‘Axis & Allies 1942 is the latest edition of the classic board war game, celebrating 25 years since the classic 'Axis & Allies' game was first launched.
'Axis & Allies' has established itself as one of the classic modern board war games. The simplest way to describe the game is a Second World War version of 'Risk', but with more strategy involved. Players start with their units (army, navy and air force) set up as they were in Spring 1942. Thereafter, players must not only try and defend their homelands and expand their territories, but grapple with the problem of maintaining factory production and supplies.
New units can only be purchased if your country's factories are producing enough each turn to do so. Your industrial complexes can be bombed by strategic bombing raids, or captured by land forces.
With rules for amphibious landings, submarines, aircraft carriers, anti-aircraft guns, armoured combat, and much more, 'Axis & Allies' is rightly regarded as one of the classic strategic war games.
This edition includes updated naval rules and the addition of a new 'Cruiser' playing piece, together with updated board graphics.
